Prayers For Christmas
Before Breakfast Prayer for Christmas Season
The Word was made flesh, alleluia, alleluia!
And dwelt among us, alleluia, alleluia!
Let the heavens rejoice and the earth be glad, before the face of the Lord, for
He comes. Bless us, O Lord, and these Thy gifts, which we are about to receive
from Thy bounty. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Christmas Novena
HAIL, and blessed be the hour and moment At which the Son of God was born Of a
most pure Virgin At a stable at midnight in Bethlehem In the piercing cold At
that hour vouchsafe, I beseech Thee, To hear my prayers and grant my desires
(mention requests here).
Through Jesus Christ and His most Blessed Mother.
Christmas Prayer
Lord, in this holy season of prayer and song and laughter, we praise you for the
great wonders you have sent us: for shining star and angel’s song, for infant’s
cry in lowly manger. We praise you for the Word made flesh in a little Child. We
behold his glory, and are bathed in its radiance.
Be with us as we sing the ironies of Christmas, the incomprehensible
comprehended, the poetry made hard fact, the helpless Babe who cracks the world
asunder. We kneel before you shepherds, innkeepers, wise men. Help us to rise
bigger than we are. Amen.
Christmas Prayer
Lord God, we praise you for creating man, and still more for restoring him in
Christ. Your Son shared our weakness; may we share his glory, for he lives and
reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
Christmas Prayer
God of love, Father of all, the darkness that covered the earth has given way to
the bright dawn of your Word made flesh. Make us a people of this light. Make us
faithful to your Word, that we may bring your life to the waiting world. Grant
this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Christmas Vigil Prayer
God our Father, every year we rejoice as we look forward to this feast of our
salvation. May we welcome Christ as our Redeemer, and meet him with confidence
when he comes to be our judge, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy
Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
Christmas Vigil Prayer
God of endless ages, Father of all goodness, we keep vigil for the dawn of
salvation and the birth of your Son. With gratitude we recall his humanity, the
life he shared with the sons of men. May the power of his divinity help us
answer his call to forgiveness and life. We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
Prayer After Breakfast During Christmas Season
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men of good will, alleluia!
The Lord has reigned, and He is clothed with beauty. Almighty God, the Savior of
the world, who hast nourished us with heavenly food, we give Thee thanks for the
gift of this bodily refreshment which we have received from Thy bountiful mercy.
Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Prayer for Christmas Dawn
Father, we are filled with the new light by the coming of your Word among us.
May the light of faith shine in our words and actions. Grant this through our
Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
Prayer for Christmas Dawn
Almighty God and Father of light, a child is born for us and a son is given to
us. Your eternal Word leaped down from heaven in the silent watches of the
night, and now your Church is filled with wonder at the nearness of her God.
Open our hearts to receive his life and increase our vision with the rising of
dawn, that our lives may be filled with his glory and his peace, who lives and
reigns for ever and ever. Amen.
Prayer for Midnight Mass
Father, you make this holy night radiant with the splendor of Jesus Christ our
light. We welcome him as Lord, the true light of the world. Bring us to eternal
joy in the kingdom of heaven, where he lives and reigns with you and the Holy
Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
Prayer for Midnight Mass
Lord our God, with the birth of your Son, your glory breaks on the world.
Through the night hours of the darkened earth, we your people watch for the
coming of your promised Son. As we wait, give us a foretaste of the joy that you
will grant us when the fullness of his glory has filled the earth, who lives and
reigns with you for ever and ever. Amen.
